Nothing shows a man’s character more than what he laughs at
Humor isn’t neutral—it reveals values, attitudes, and hidden beliefs. A person who laughs at cruel jokes, for example, might be showing they enjoy putting others down. Someone who laughs at absurdity or wit is likely showing they value cleverness. Someone who laughs easily at themselves might be signaling humility and resilience.
What we laugh at strips away the mask we wear in serious moments. It shows not just what entertains us, but what we accept, what we dismiss, and where our empathy lies. In that sense, laughter is like a mirror of character.
