Actress Jurnee Smollett attended the 8th Annual Critics Choice Association’s (CCA) Celebration of Black Cinema & Television. The star-studded gala took place on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles, California.

The event honors outstanding achievements by the Black entertainment community both on and off-screen. Jurnee Smollett was a major honoree of the evening, receiving the Actress Award – Series for her performance in the Apple TV thriller series, Smoke.

Smollett walked the red carpet in a gorgeous, strapless gown that evoked “old Hollywood glam”. The dress featured a sweetheart neckline and a shimmering, sequined finish. The actress was celebrated alongside other industry peers, including filmmaker Spike Lee, who received the Career Achievement Award, and actor Sterling K. Brown. The ceremony, which was hosted by comedian Jay Pharoah, is set to air and stream exclusively on STARZ in early 2026.
